[EN] Fracking in UK: buy the silence?

The Government is considering giving a direct payment to households in fracking affected areas, this could amount to more than £10,000 to each family. The anti-fracking movement in UK is very important and slows the exploration process. It is proposed to use wealth funds from the proceeds of fracking to pay for new community amenities but this is not enough to impress the British activists.
With this cynical idea from the new Government, poor families could accept this big amount of money and weaken the fracking opposition.
